Stake's bonus terms are lighter than most casinos' — there are no wagering requirements on rakeback and no locked bonus balances — but the conditions that do exist are strict, and they are the ones that cost players money. This page walks through each clause with examples. The operator's official terms always take precedence over any summary here.

ConditionThe ruleWhat happens if you break it
Code entry window At registration or within 24 hours via Settings → Offers Field locks; offer permanently unavailable
Accounts per player One — per person, household and IP Balance confiscation, account closure
Minimum age 18+ Account voided along with winnings
KYC Tiered — triggered by withdrawal volume or review Withdrawals paused until documents approved
Restricted countries Long list; VPN use prohibited Winnings voided, account closed

The 24-hour referral code window

This is the clause that voids more welcome offers than any other. A referral code such as signupstake attaches in exactly two places: the "Referral Code (Optional)" panel in the registration form (collapsed by default — expand it), or Settings → Offers within 24 hours of account creation.

After 24 hours the field locks and no code can ever be attached to that account. Live chat can sometimes help if you entered a code that failed to apply — but only inside the window. There is no retroactive fix.

Rakeback rules — the good news

Unusually, this is where Stake's terms are genuinely player-friendly. Rakeback unlocked with the code pays 3.5% of the house edge on every wager and comes with:

  • No wagering requirement. Rakeback is credited as withdrawable balance, not bonus funds. There is nothing to roll over and nothing to forfeit.
  • No maximum cash-out. Unlike free-spin winnings at most casinos, rakeback has no cap.
  • No expiry on the program. Once unlocked, rakeback runs indefinitely; the rate rises with your VIP level.
  • All games eligible. Casino games and Stake Originals all accrue rakeback — there is no game-weighting table to decode.

Worked example: wager 1 BTC on a game with a 2% house edge and roughly 0.0007 BTC returns to your balance, win or lose. Small per bet — real over volume.

KYC: what documents, and when

Stake runs a tiered KYC model rather than verifying everyone up front. Email confirmation unlocks play; document checks are triggered by cumulative withdrawal volume, suspicious activity or a manual compliance review:

  • Tier 1 — Identity: a government photo ID (passport, driver's licence or national ID card).
  • Tier 2 — Address: a utility bill or bank statement issued within the last three months.
  • Tier 3 — Source of funds: payslips, bank records or crypto-wallet history for high-volume accounts.

Approvals usually land within 24–72 hours, handled in-app through Settings. The single best move: submit documents before your first large withdrawal — an unverified account hitting a KYC trigger mid-payout is the most common cause of "Stake is holding my money" complaints.

The clauses that get accounts closed

Multi-accounting

One account per person, household and IP. Opening a second account to reuse a referral code is treated as bonus abuse — balances on all linked accounts can be confiscated.

VPN sign-ups

Stake is unavailable in a long list of restricted jurisdictions. Registering through a VPN violates the terms — winnings on such accounts can be voided at withdrawal, after you've played.

Underage play

Accounts flagged as under 18 are voided along with any winnings — deposits are not necessarily returned. The 18+ confirmation at registration is contractually binding.

Licence reality check

Stake operates under a Curacao licence — legitimate, but disputes are handled by the operator and regulator, not an independent ombudsman. Protections are weaker than MGA or UKGC.
